Every item in this limited-issue denim range (jackets, shorts and jeans) is different and can be found at Kaporal.com from early July 2022.
With a flower in his hand, Lucas Beaufort's kindly monster Gus Gus gives the Kaporal Impact collection a quirky and candid feel. The customisation process is green as the artist only uses eco-friendly acrylic paint. The Kylan jeans, Jay shorts and Jaden jacket are available in three sizes, in the shades Lightmed and Bluedmed, and are made of recycled cotton and polyester (from old plastic bottles certified by REPREVE) as well as hemp. Hemp is a natural and sturdy environmentally-friendly fibre that grows without the need for any chemicals or much water. For this capsule collection, Kaporal is using hemp from French producer La Chanvrière, a member of the CELC (European Confederation of Flax and Hemp). The Kaporal Impact programme accounts for 35% of the brand's entire collection. It helps Kaporal reduce its environmental impact by making clothes in a way that uses more natural and recycled materials, less water and energy, and also limits microplastic waste.
The artist provides his interpretation of water on each of the pieces in a series of blues, shapes and lines inspired by the waves and the seabed. Each illustration is unique.
The jacket, jeans and shorts in the shade LIGHTMED are made of recycled polyester and cotton fibres.
The jacket and jeans in the shade BLUEMED are made of recycled cotton and hemp.
41-year-old painter Lucas Beaufort was born in Cannes and pays tribute to skateboard culture through his work. In between putting his own stamp on magazine covers and getting involved in carefully chosen collaborations with brands like Vans, Adidas and Ellesse, he creates colourful paintings full of naive monsters he has dreamt up. Gus Gus, his main character, has emerged from this dreamlike world and helps him construct a positive worldview.
