For our 5th collaboration around the upcycling of jeans, it is the turn of Portuguese designer Luis Carvalho to take up the challenge and give a second life to scraps of fabric and worn jeans on the theme of "deconstruction-reconstruction". Exclusive launch on Kaporal.com on 10 January 2023!

The denim was collected in Kaporal boutiques thanks to the "Kaporal Impact Recycling" programme launched in 2014, which allows old jeans to be collected in order to give them a second life. The material was also combined with scraps of fabric and old rolls of unused denim, found in the brand's warehouses as well as by drawing on unsold, defective collections from the archives.

The collection is composed of eleven unique pieces with straight and oversized lines, playing with different shades of blue. Each piece was designed and made by hand and required dozens of hours of meticulous work in the Marseille workshops 13 A'TIPIK.

The clothes designed by Luis Carvalho are not gender-specific and can be worn without distinction (except for the 2 dresses in the collection).

Luis Carvalho is an eponymous brand born in 2013 in Vizela (Portugal), which offers collections based on classic tailoring, with a special attention to detail. The designer articulates his work around the construction/deconstruction of the silhouette, to design fluid and structured pieces for men and women. The brand's aesthetic balances the classic and the casual, with a certain audacity, a recognizable signature of Luis Carvalho. Luis Carvalho's contemporary vision has won him numerous international awards, including the OpenMyMed Prize from Maison Mode Méditerranée in 2019, and has represented Portugal across borders at fashion events such as Showfloor in Berlin, Paris Fashion Week Homme and Tunis Fashion Week in 2022.
